Born on a farmhouse in rural Maryland, raised in the cocoon of inner SE Portland, OR and educated on the cold, dirty streets of Boston, it's no surprise that Lucas Biespiel has made his way in the musical world as a poster child for creative versatility. Biespiel learned to sing folk tunes and blues standards at a young age, listening to icons like Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, and Leadbelly. A talented singer and multi-instrumentalist, Biespiel holds his own on the keys, guitar, and ukulele, as well as a host of other instruments. But his weapon of choice is the violin, an instrument he first picked up at the age of 5, and later studied at the prestigious Berklee College of Music. Bringing all of these talents together, Biespiel spends his nights dancing from venue to venue in Portland's thriving local music scene.
